For EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., the commitment and compliance with internationally recognized fundamental human rights is fundamental, making sure not to have practices or be accomplices of violation, vulnerability among its shareholders, employees, suppliers and customers throughout the production chain.
EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., adopts the declaration of human rights by the UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION (UNO), with the main objective of adopting these principles and values in all the companies in which it participates either as a buyer or supplier of products and services.
PRINCIPLES
LEGALITY IN ALL ITS ACTIONS: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., condemns practices in the organization that jeopardize legality and fundamental ethical principles.
REJECTION OF ANY TYPE OF DISCRIMINATION: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., is committed to the equality of human rights and therefore does not accept any type of discrimination based on age, race, color, sex, religion, political opinion, nationality, roots, sexual orientation, status and social origin and/or any type of disability.
RESPECT FOR PEOPLE: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., rejects forced labor, child labor and lack of freedoms and therefore complies with national and international laws regarding good labor practices, eradicating child labor and forced labor and promoting and defending individual freedom of union membership and the effective recognition of the right of employees to collective bargaining.
QUALITY AND SAFETY OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., is committed to the quality of service, labor safety and safety of its products, which guarantees that the products and services it provides do not pose a risk to its workers, customers and consumers to whom it is intended and undertakes to correct in case of non-compliance or damage to them.
DEFENSE, PROMOTION AND DISSEMINATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., is committed to disseminate and raise awareness among its personnel about conduct and compliance with human rights and therefore rejects any manifestation of physical, sexual, psychological and moral harassment, abuse of authority or any other conduct that intimidates or violates any human right, as well as promotes respect.
COMMITMENT WITH THIRD PARTIES: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., promotes respect for human rights throughout the production and supply chain and therefore encourages the adoption of ethical principles with its employees, suppliers, collaborators and customers.
SUPERVISION AND COLLABORATION WITH THE AUTHORITIES: In compliance with its objective and based on its code of ethics, EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., controls and corrects any abuse of human rights and reports any violation or non-compliance to the competent judicial authorities, reiterating its collaboration with them.
DUE DILIGENCE: EDULAG S.A. DE C.V., with the objective of respecting the rights of third parties and mitigate the violation of the same performs actions with due diligence being impartial to the application of the law against whoever violates or infringes the rights of third parties regardless of the level in the organizational chart of the company.
COMMITMENT AND TRAINING: EDULAG SA DE CV, establishes a system of denunciation in case of violation of human rights, avoiding reprisals against those who denounce or are offended and protecting their Dignity and Human Integrity.
COMPLIANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION
We are committed to integrating this policy into our business culture and practices. Our work will be guided by the relevant sections of the ONU Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and will include:
- Actively communicate this policy to internal and external stakeholders, including awareness raising and training on human rights.
- To be certified as a company with SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY in at least 2 SEDEX SMETA PILLARS.
- Apply actions if necessary to mitigate the vulnerability of the company in terms of unethical practices or non-compliance with the guidelines of SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY SEDEX SMETA.
- Include human rights-related requirements within contractual agreements with business partners and host governments as appropriate.
- Collaborate with or provide access to redress through effective grievance and complaint procedures. We will continue to play an active and constructive role in relevant multi-stakeholder human rights initiatives, including the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, the ongoing implementation of which is an important pillar of our approach to the human rights set forth in this policy. EDULAG S.A. DE C.V. will comply with applicable laws and respect the rule of law at all times.
In situations where there is a conflict between national legal requirements and international human rights standards, we will seek to uphold the Company’s values. In doing so, we will consider all options, which may include refraining from making or exiting investments in the jurisdiction.
SCOPE AND MANAGEMENT:
This policy applies to relations with our employees, contractors and other business partners in the public and private sectors regarding their activities on our behalf.
In situations where EDULAG S.A. DE C.V. does not have full management control, we will exercise available influence to achieve compliance with this policy. This policy has been approved by THE MANAGEMENT OF EDULAG S.A. DE C.V. and will be reviewed periodically.
Responsibility for the implementation of this policy rests with the CEO and SENIOR MANAGEMENT.
